Pipe RammingWithout the need for a thrust-wall, Pipe Ramming is the ideal solution to install steel sleeve pipes and casing ducts through embankments or loose ground. Although non-steered the method has predictable characteristics making it extremely versatile, Allen Watson own and operates a wide range of Pipe Rammers and has installed pipes up to 130 metres. Pipe ramming is a pneumatic hammer used to push steel casings through the ground. On completion of the bore, compressed air or water, conventional pressure jetting or augering is used to remove the spoils from within the casing. Click on an image below to enlarge. Typical ApplicationsSteel pipes from 150mmØ up to 1,600mmØ for drainage culverts or as sacrificial casings to accommodate multiple services such as pressure pipes and cable ducts. Distances from 5 metres up to 130 metres have been successfully installed under Railways, Roads, Rivers, Airports, Buildings, Contaminated landfill sites and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Crossings can be for Water, Oil, Gas, Electric, Sewage, Chemicals, Communication Ducts and Outfalls. |
