Rock Boring

(Sometimes referred to as DTH Drilling)

With our extensive experience Allen Watson has designed, built and operates a versatile range of rock boring methods. These include DTH rotary and pneumatic systems some steered and non-steered. Working in conjunction with our auger equipment the key to successful Rock and overburden boring is planning, engineering and selection of the correct drilling technique with particular attention to formation and rock strength.

What is Rock Boring?

Using specially designed and manufactured equipment including button bits or roller cones, Rock and overburden is crushed simultaneously allowing the cutting head to pass forming the bore.
